The Slomin Family Center is a 501c3 not for profit dedicated to “improving the emotional and physical well-being of children and their families touched by autism spectrum disorder”. Our mission, as architects, was to create a campus environment that would enhance the learning experience by including natural light and using color and spatial sequencing to orient and raise familiarity with the different learning centers and their locations within the buildings and campus. The project was divided into 3 Building Phases; Phase-1 the Classroom Building, Phase-2 the Foundation Building and Phase-3 the Natatorium, Natatorium Gardens and Gymnasium.

Dan Calloway Recreation Center

The main elements of this project is its new state of the art Water Play area with a musical theme and fully interactive, new court areas (basketball, tennis, racquetball) and picnic areas.  Additional parking with proper drainage is also included. A restroom storage building has been to this part of the park on the east side adjacent to the promenade.

Slomin Family Center

The Slomin Family Center is a unique project for us following the Vision of Sandra Slomin and her foundation. The Center caters to the needs of children with Autistic related disorders by providing Day Care, after Care and therapy treatment for the Children encumbered by this very challenging condition. Water and related activities are one of the most effective uses to accomplish this. The Complex not only provides a therapy pool for water related activities as well a water playground is incorporated into the concept along with gardens which are safe and walkable filled with exotic species of plantings, based on the previous users concept the American orchid society.

In its initial Design Stage, the Savannah Townhouses includes Pool Amenities, Restrooms and off-street parking. The Development consists in the Construction of 3 Buildings with 3 or 4 Residences each. The  2,200 SF Two Story Residences will have 2 car garages, patios, balcony, living room, dining room, and laundry.  there will be two models to choose from a 2 or 3 bedrooms with 2.5 baths.

This is a Private Residence for avid boaters built on the Manatee Pocket community of Mariner’s Cay; this residence is a 4 bedroom, 4.5 bath home with 3 car garages. It is a contemporary design with open plan second floor “main floor” (kitchen, dining, great room and loft library). Being on the water, that is its focus. All vistas of the water are emphasized and long views captured. The exterior finishes include stone and stainless steel railings with braided wire horizontal pickets. The barrel style roof is a compound arch providing shade to the glass areas that meet along it curvature. The residence has become an icon on the manatee pocket and has a 5 boat dock that extends into its waters.

Boys and Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County “prototype design” was developed for non-residential sites in Palm Beach County. This contemporary facility houses up to 220 at risk students during after school hours and teaches them community values in addition to tutoring and extra-curricular activities. The facility includes a canteen with warming kitchen and an air conditioned full service high school standard gymnasium for indoor play.  

Indiantown Boys & Girls Club

The building is designed with as much natural light as the budget will allow. Due to the narrowness of the site the building also takes a more narrow style. Being conscientious to our residential neighbors is key and additional building setback over those required are to promote a good neighbor policy that Boys & Girls Clubs require. The building provides study areas, Computer lab, Science Lab, Arts & Crafts as well a covered Gym. 

Meridian Marina Yatch Club

Expansion of existing marina to include luxury yacht sales and air condition storage. The marina is to be renovated and modified with added multi level boat storage areas; new parking and access drives and river dock expansion.  The contemprary architecture is intended to provide an iconic signature for the new ownership and attract new customers of higher end vessels.

Lauderdale by the Sea Pavilion

The design for the pavilion was a result of a design competition hosted by the city. The wining design being chosen by the Town Council with input by our firm. We were then given the opportunity to bid on the project against one other firm, were ultimately selected. The Project is partially funded by a county Grant & requires approval by the state of Florida Bureau of Beaches & Coastal Systems. 

Fisherman Wharf

Fisherman’s Wharf is Mixed Use Development. This destination resort will be home to a Room Boutique Hotel, timeshare condominium units (part of the hotel complex), Office Condos, SF Retail Shops,  high end restaurants (one serving as the Lighthouse Beacon at the point), the renovation of an existing slips marina and the expansion of an additional slips capable of accommodating up to 60 FT Yachts.  The new development will include the future site of a small scale Cruise Lines port together with Customs Building and shops for passenger service to the Bahamas.

The Weston Town Center consists of approximately 36 acres of commercial / office – retail buildings centered about a “turn of the century” main street theme. The master planned development is the product of over two years of planning and 24 months in construction. It is comprised of 450,000 SF of construction arrayed in a two story scheme which houses offices, retail stores, second floor studio offices, restaurants (both in-line and freestanding), a Publix supermarket, a lakefront park, the city’s Town Hall, a band shell in the park, a lanyard tree flagship, and the Bell Tower, the Town Centers’ main street icon. 

Power Orthodontics

New Dental Office for Dr. Rebecca Power in Stuart, Florida. The challenge, how to design in tight spaces. Our approach was to provide high value design and functionality in only 1,300 SF.   We were able to outfit the space with: waiting area, three operatories, a diagnostic operatory, lab, office, x-ray, accounting and employee lounge with comfort and on a tight budget. The result a warm environment for Dr. Power and her future clients.

Raul Ocampo & Associates was chosen by a Non for profit development & property management firm to help redevelop one of its aging low income housing projects into a more community and environmentally conscience Mobile Elderly Housing Facility. The project involves the tear down of all the existing buildings in a phased construction, this to allow for some revenue during the redevelopment process. Ocampo’s expertise is paramount in this project, due the sensitive nature of dealing with the local municipality and the surrounding neighborhood
